Avatar Meher Baba Quotes
- Love for the Sadguru or Perfect Master is
particularly important, because it invites
contact with the Sadguru.
- Divine desperateness is the beginning of
spiritual awakening because it gives rise to the
aspiration for God-realisation.
- Selfless service is accomplished when there
is not the slightest thought of reward or
result, and when there is complete disregard of
one's own comfort or convenience or the
possibility of being misunderstood.
- In the world of physical events, there is
the law of conservation of energy according to
which no energy is ever lost and in the world of
values, there is the law that once Karma comes
into existence, it does not mysteriously flitter
away, without leading to its natural result, but
persists until it bears its own fruit or is
undone through counter-Karma. Good actions lead
to good results; and bad actions lead to bad
results.
- Love is nothing if it is not spontaneous. It
cannot be a conclusion of reasoning. It is not a
fruit of the spirit of bargain. If you want to
be certain about the object of love before
giving your love, it is only a form of
calculating selfishness.
- From the spiritual point of view, it is
infinitely better for a person to love saints
simply because they are lovable than to love
them for some selfish ends.
- People should go to saints because they are
genuinely interested in true spirituality and
for no other reason; it is only then that they
derive greatest benefit out of their contact
with the saints.
- IN ACTUALITY, God is not far from the
seeker, nor is it impossible to see Him. He is
like the sun, which is ever shining right above
you. It is you who have held over your head the
umbrella of your variegated mental impressions
which hide Him from your view. You have only to
remove the umbrella and the Sun is there for you
to see. It does not have to be brought there
from anywhere. But such a tiny and trivial thing
as an umbrella can deprive you of the sight of
such a stupendous fact as the Sun.
- The Master is the very source of purity and
to set one's heart on the Master is beginning of
self-purification. When the disciple has
whole-hearted devotion for the Master, he is
opening himself for the reception of the Divine
Love which the Master pours on him: and all his
weaknesses are consumed in this fire of Divine
Love of which he thus becomes the recipient.
